My name is John Ott. I’m the founder of YEP! Strength. My goal behind the brand is to create a movement, not just products. I strive to bring the fitness community together and help athletes reach their best!

My whole life I’ve had big dreams. I wrestled from 1st grade to college. My sophomore year I dropped out and began fighting professionally after winning 11 amateur fights in a row. During this same time period I was working part time for GNC and personal training. In 2011 I was offered a district manger position with GNC in Seattle. I took it.

Fast forward to 2016 I was a leader within the organization. GNC had invested a lot into my development and I was very successful in that career. In many ways, it was hard to leave. I knew I only had so much time left to pursue my dream. I felt as if I wasn’t living life to my fullest potential. That weighed hard on me mentally. I was also completely out of shape physically. That is the year when I took action. The year this dream began to form reality.

I did my first bodybuilding show in 2018 and started YEP! Strength as an online coaching company later that year. Fast forward to November of 2021 after winning multiple bodybuilding shows, a divorce, and moving back to Kansas City, I launched the first serving of YEP! Pre-Workout!

This brand was built from the ground up—literally. When I couldn’t find a manufacturer that met my standards, I took matters into my own hands. I started with a mixer that made 7 tubs of pre- workout, producing the products out of my apartment. Before moving into our current facility, I had 10 of those machines, producing the majority of the product myself.

Today, YEP! Strength operates in a state-of-the-art facility in Kansas City, Missouri. We use premium raw ingredients with no fillers. All of our products are manufactured on high quality equipment by a well trained group of athletes held to the highest standards. Not only do we have some of the best formulas, we have some of the best tasting products, unique to our brand and very low in calories.

In 2025 Hardwear Clothing merged with YEP! Strength. Now most of my time is spent traveling the US with my business partner Chase, sponsoring different bodybuilding shows, fitness events, and collaborating with gyms. We call it the YEP x HW World Tour! Chase and I are both bodybuilders. We live it! We both aspire to become IFBB Pros.

In 2025 we sponsored a show nearly every weekend of the bodybuilding season and did product demos at over 200 gyms. Now, YEP! Strength products can be found in different supplement stores and gyms across the United States! As we continue to grow, I plan to launch a full arsenal of YEP! Strength products held to the highest quality standards.
